The 22nd edition of this series of online seminars, coordinated by G&M News, generated great interest among participants. Local gaming references from different sectors of the industry offered their insightful views on the Brazilian market situation and the future of regulation following Lula’s victory in the recent national elections.

Once again, the ‘G&M Webinar Series’ organized by G&M News provided the industry with an exceptional conference that stimulates academic perspectives and knowledge exchange. This was no small feat, considering that yesterday, under the title ‘Post-Election Brazil: The New Debate on Gaming Regulation,’ high-level directors gathered online.
With brilliant and precise moderation, giving equal participation to all speakers, led by Natalia Nogues (Managing Partner of Control+F5), the panelists had a prominent role: Amilton Noble (Executive Director of Hebara and Executive Director of the National Association of Games and Lotteries, ANJL), Leonardo Baptista (CEO and co-founder of Pay4Fun), Fellipe Fraga (COO of EstrelaBet), Dr. Fernando Gonçalves (Founder and CEO of FGo Legal), and Bruno Baima (CMO of SGA Systems).
Among the various topics addressed in the seminar, the echoes of the elections and the balance between the Executive Power led by Lula da Silva and the Legislative Power, with a strong influence from Jair Bolsonaro’s allies, were discussed. Other topics included the possibilities of action after December 12, when the deadline for the regulation of sports betting expires; the different gaming verticals, in addition to betting; the difference between local and international operators; and future challenges.
Initially, Noble (ANJL) emphasized the growth of the lottery sector and the opportunities it offers. “There are state lotteries, municipal lotteries, instant lotteries. São Paulo is also moving in this direction. We even have Health and Tourism Lotteries in the process of regulation by the Federal Government,” he listed.
For Baima (SGA System): “If we analyze it in general, people in Brazil support the legalization of gambling in its various verticals. There is a well-defined and established legal framework, and the Senate just needs to fulfill its commitment, do its part, and approve the project.”
